-Aiko is a Mazda Bongo Friendee and was imported by ourselves in 2014, it has 5 seats, it can accommodate Child seats, it has a mid kitchen installed behind the drivers seat.
If was fitted at the factory with the “Automatic Free Top” option, which lifts to reveal a 7′ x 4′ bed which can easily sleep two adults. Downstairs the seats fold flat to provide a further double bed.
Ideally, this is the perfect van for two, but can house 4 if required.
The mid conversion includes a smev two burner gas hob, a sink with pumped cold water supply and a 42 litre compressor fridge. A surf board derived camper table clips on & off when required.
The electrics are quite clever, Aiko has a 120amp leisure battery, which is fed from the alternator, the solar & the mains. Most of that functionality is automatic. There is also a 160 Watt solar pv system, which provides all the power you need – working OK in daylight, but better in the sun!
It has a 350 watt pure sine wave inverter, which can supply 240 volts & dual usb charging points whilst on the move.
Aiko is powered by a four cylinder 2.0 petrol engine coupled to a silky smooth automatic gearbox. Sensible driving returns 30 mpg.
This is a very comfortable van – been known to do 10 hours in one leg!
The entertainment system includes a 7″ touch screen dash mounted unit, coupled to a 15″ flip down & 6 speaker system. DVD, CD, MP3, USB and Sat Nav.
Aiko is 4.58 m long, 1.69 m wide & 2.09 m high (WATCH OUT FOR BARRIERS!), Basically the same size as a large estate car, so parking & manoeuvring is a doddle.
Happy Bongoing!
